Mr Awat (b. Kurdisthan)is a multifaceted filmmaker and academic b with extensive experience in directing, writing, producing, and editing films. Holding advanced degrees in Visual Effects, Filmmaking, and Cinematography, he has earned 20 awards and 10 nominations for his work. As an active member of the filmmaking community. He has served on juries for several prestigious film festivals, including the Slemani International Film Festival. He is also committed to nurturing future filmmakers, having organized and led numerous workshops in Kurdistan and the UK over the past decade. He has been teaching at the University of Slemani’s Filmmaking Department since 2015.
