Dr Shemin Balachandran Nair, is a film maker, cinematographer, and an academician who has a practice-led PhD in Film Practice from the University of Central Lancashire, UK. Currently supervising three PhD students in the area of film studies.

Currently holding various positions like
* Adjunct Professor and PhD Thesis advisor Amrita vishwapeetham university.
* Academic Director, Lead Faculty,Department of Cinematography, Luminar Film Academy.
* Festival director, Museum Talkies International Festival. He won more than 20 international awards on various categories for his films
